Do you ever feel like tourists know more about your home town or city than you do? I have lived near and worked in New York City for my whole life and I haven’t been to the big tourists spots, like the Statue of Liberty. We natives always seem to take our surroundings for granted. The same goes for the town (just outside of NYC) that we live in now. There are tons and tons of things to do from wine tasting to beaches to national parks, and we have done almost nothing.
We finally decided to explore our new home a bit and Eric planned a lovely Saturday to do just that! Who knew there was an actual National Park on Long Island?? Not me! We visited the gorgeous Sagamore Hill where Theodore Roosevelt lived. We had the opportunity to tour the grounds and visit the Museum that is on-site. After that, we headed into the town of Oyster Bay to get our drink on! After drinking some tasty beer, we had some lunch and ice cream to finish off our day date!
