How to Mix Black & Brown for Fall

Isn’t it funny how trends evolve? In the past, white after labor day was a no-no, mixing gold and silver was a no-no and pairing together black and brown was a no-no. Today, I am going to be talking about how to mix black & brown for Fall. I started with this cognac statement dress. Sweater dresses are totally on trend for Fall and this one is really a showstopper with the bubble sleeves, off the shoulder neckline and tighter fitting skirt. Instead of mixing lighter and darker neutrals to go with this dress, I decided that a bold pop of black would be more dramatic. This hat and these booties provide the perfect contrast for this look.

I kept my accessories simple, opting for this fun pearl embellished necklace. I have been getting a lot of questions about this necklace, so I want to tell you more about where I got it. I found an awesome online store that features designer jewelry for less. This necklace includes an authentic Chanel pin that was re-purposed as a necklace. There are necklaces, bracelets and earrings, all made from vintage designer buttons and pins. I think that this idea is so innovative and allows someone like me or you to enjoy a designer piece as a very reasonable price. Almost everything is under $200!
