I have been using the same makeup regime for a long time. I have pretty oily skin that is prone to breakouts, so I stick to using very light makeup that I felt wouldn’t clog my pores and cause my skin to breakout. What I realized is that there are so many new products out there that are specifically made for my type of skin. My previous makeup regime was not long wearing and did not combat oily skin, resulting in me having to blot my face A LOT! I stopped by the Sephora Color Studio and they helped me pick out makeup that was perfect for my skin type and skin tone. I love the products I am using now and would recommend them to anyone who has similar skin to mine.
Check out the details below!
The Murad Mattifier product is used to control oil, mattify your skin and prepare it for foundation. The Smashbox primer is great for smoothing out any redness you have on your face.

I haven’t used an actual liquid foundation in years. I felt that it would be too heavy and would probably cause my pores to clog even more. I found that the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation combats oil and is great for my type of skin.

I use a small amount of the Murad on my oily areas, so mostly my T-zone. I then use a small amount of the Smashbox primer on my cheeks, where I have some discoloration. Finally, I use a dime-sized amount of the Double Wear foundation and brush it on using the foundation brush in a circular motion, making sure to fill in around my hair line, jaw line and neck to ensure that the color blends.
I have been using this Make Up Forever concealer for a few years now and I love it. I apply it under my eyes and on any blemishes. It provides full coverage! I use a beauty blender to apply it under my eyes for smooth application.

I had previously been using this powder in conjunction with the Makeup Forever concealer as my foundation. While this powder was great for masking redness and prepping my skin for bronzer, it did nothing to combat oil and was not very long lasting. What I discovered is that using this powder to “set” the Estee Launder foundation was a much better use for it.

Clinique Powder | Setting Powder Brush #53
I have also been using Hoola by Benefit for many many years. I have just never had a reason to try anything else because I love it so much. I know there are many other options out there for bronzer, but this one is consistent, inexpensive and lasts a pretty long time. I apply it with a contouring brush.

Bronzer | Contouring Brush #75
I recently purchased both the Anastasia Contouring kit as well as the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette and I love them both. If you haven’t tried either of these products, I would highly suggest testing them out, because I think they are just great!

Anastasia Contouring Kit in Light to Medium | Naked 2
I used to use an amazing blush by Lorac, but unfortunately it was discontinued a few years ago. I color matched it to a Sephora brand blush and I have been pretty happy with it.

Blush in “Hey Jealousy” | Setting Powder Brush #53
These products are two of my favorite new products that I think have changed my final look. These don’t really have anything to do with my skin tone or skin type, however, these products will really give you a sexy and beautiful eye!
The liquid liner takes a little practice to get right, but all it takes is a quick dampening of the eyeliner brush and a few swipes to get a great cat-eye. The Anastasia Dip Brow is amazing for filling in brows and creating a perfect brow shape. I had previously been using the Anastasia eye brow mascara, but this is a great way to prep and fill in your brows before using the brow mascara to shape and set your brow!
