A Trip to the Lavender Farm – North Fork Hot Spot!

The Lavender by the Bay farm is easily one of the most beautiful and scenic places that I have ever visited. Picture rows and rows of beautiful purple flowers, floral smells wafting through the breeze and butterflies fluttering around everywhere you turn.

Eric and I discovered this place last year, but we had already missed the harvest. We promised ourselves we would make the trip out this summer to see the gorgeous flowers and boy did it not disappoint! Not only did we get a beautiful day, but the flowers were in bloom, making the scenery epic! Who knew that this beautiful location was less than 2 hrs away from our home! It is also totally easy to get there from NYC!

In addition to the acres of gorgeous and fragrant flowers, there was also an adorable market right on-site that sold everything lavender! We had such a blast checking out the lavender soaps, lotions, incense and dried flowers! We could not be happier that we caught the harvest this year and plan to go back annually!

After frolicking through the lavender fields, we were starving and in desperate need of some wine! When in wine country, head to the nearest winery! We took a ride over to Kontokosta winery, which is right down the road, for some much needed beverages! The tasting room on-site at the winery is an amazing industrial modern building! It has huge sprawling ceilings, a loft, live music and an outdoor patio. While we were there, we were brainstorming what event we could throw just so that we could come back!

After some much needed wine and charcuterie, we walked the grounds a little. The rows of vines were absolutely beautiful and at the far end of the property is a cliff that overlooks the water. It is an absolutely stunning view and such a serene and amazing vineyard! I knew that if we got a good day, I would have to share the view with all of you, so I made sure I wore my favorite off the shoulder dress for the occasion!
