You can’t attend NYFW without an outfit that has some fun pops of leather. There is nothing that screams NYC more than a chic black outfit. Being a native New Yorker myself, a big portion of my wardrobe consists of black staples like this leather jacket. I felt right at home at NYFW February 2020 – Day 2 in this look! The Roxy Hotel is totally iconic and it is where a few of my friends were staying, so we decided to snap some photos outside, in front of the marquee. I love the architectural vibes it gives off!
On another note, tomorrow is my birthday! Last year, I spent my birthday on a business trip with my colleagues in St. Louis, so this year I was determined to make sure that I was home to enjoy the day with Eric! But of course, life always throws you a curve ball and you can’t always anticipate how things will go. It turns out that I have to go on another business trip this week. Luckily, the trip is only to Chicago. To ensure that I will be home for my actual birthday on the 11th, I scheduled it as a day trip on the 10th! Wish me luck friends…I feel like I am just asking for trouble! UPDATE: Due to Corona Virus, our trip was cancelled, so I will get to be home afterall! As of right now, I don’t know what Eric has planned, but I am thinking that a nice, homemade meal is just the ticket!
Check out my second outfit from NYFW February 2020 – Day 2 below!
SHIFT DRESSES HAVE SHAPE
A lot of time I steer clear from shift dresses because I feel like they are boxy and don’t work with my slender frame. When I saw this beautiful cobalt print dress, I had to give the shift another whirl. I am so happy that I did, because I am obsessed with how chic and sophisticated this dress it. You all know that I am a big supporter of the desk to dinner look and this is another one that fits the bill perfectly! Wear it unbelted and with a black blazer and pumps in the office and then swap out your blazer for a leather jacket and add a belt to give this modest dress a little flair!
OVER THE KNEE BOOTS FOR WINTER
When I wear dresses or skirts in the winter, I always like to balance them with something more seasonal. Over the knee boots are a great way to winterize an outfit like this. They cover you up a bit, which logically is great for keeping you warm, they cover pasty skin and they work great with tights or leggings. There are tons of great over the knee boot options out there at every price point. I have linked a few here for you!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy shopping!
