New Year, New Me

Every year, I try to make a New Year’s resolution that I can achieve. Sometimes it is one thing, and sometimes it is a list of things. This year, my mantra is New Year, New Me! 2020 was a hard year for so many. For me and Eric, it was a year where we had the privilege of being together almost all the time. Yes, we struggled with quarantine and missing our friends and family. Yes, we missed not traveling and going out to dinner. Overall though, we made the most of our time in quarantine by enjoying each other, working on home projects and really feeling fortunate for the little things in life! Most exciting though, was the birth of our niece, Shea! Since we are both 100% work-from-home now (and so thankful to both have jobs!), we have had the opportunity to spend time with Eric’s family, including Shea, a few times this year!

When it came to quarantining we mostly stayed on track with maintaining a healthy lifestyle and a healthy mindset. Most of my resolutions used to revolve around working out and losing that holiday weight. While I fully intend to participate in dry January this year, which will include no alcohol and eating a strict and healthy diet, I want to resolve to do even more. This year, I want to really enjoy my time with my husband, my friends and my family. If quarantine taught me anything, it’s that I really do love my life and am so fortunate to be surrounded by amazing friends and family! It’s not so bad when you are quarantining with your best friend!

This year, my top resolution is to live in the moment, be thankful for what I have and to try my best to live for today. I never want to say “When I have this/get here/achieve this goal, etc., I will be happy.” I want to enjoy and be happy with what I have now because I am so blessed!

What are your resolutions this year?

This windowpane turtleneck sweater is super cozy and perfect for a casual winter day! I wore it around Lake Placid while we were there and it kept me warm and cozy! I paired it with simple jeans, but it can totally be dressed up with a pair of camel faux leather leggings. Since we were walking around in the snow, I wore a super cute pair of boots and a matching tote bag!
