Insulated Coolers with BruMate

I am a big believer in drinking from re-usable cups. Not only is it better for the environment, but who wants to drink water or an adult beverage from plastic solo cup? That’s so high school! Today, I am sharing these  amazing Insulated Coolers with BrüMate! Whether it is a summer trip to the beach or a winter staycation, Eric and I tend to use insulated, re-usable cups for our drinks. There is nothing worse than a hot beer or beverage at the beach and who wants a cold beverage sweating and leaving water marks all over your countertop or coffee table? When we renovated our home a few years ago, Eric and I picked real marble for our kitchen countertops. We knew that the marble would require a bit of additional care, so we purchased a bunch of coasters to make sure that drinks didn’t leave an etched ring. With BrüMate, we don’t need to worry about that at all anymore!

First, since the cups are metal, we are talking about a glass-free zone during parties or at the beach. That is seriously a game changer, since we have gone through more than our fair share of broken glass during parties. Next, because all cups and coolers are insulated, there is no sweating and no rings left on my beautiful countertops or wood coffee table. Finally, I know that my drink will stay cold for hours! Sounds like an overall win-win to me!

WINTER STAYCATION

I don’t know about you, but it’s been snowing in NY for almost a month. Since we are still practicing social distancing, we haven’t been getting out much, which means that we have to entertain ourselves at home. Eric and I have been trying to do something different each weekend to make sure we don’t go stir crazy! Whether it’s working on home projects, playing board games, binging Netflix, baking brownies, or setting up a cute little happy hour, complete with charcuterie and drinks, we’ve been trying to make the most of our extra time at home together!

DRINK RECIPE

Eric is mostly a beer drinker (we happen to have a kegerator with two taps in our bar). I, on the other hand, love a good mixed drink! At the beginning of quarantine, I am not going to lie…I drank a lot of wine. In an effort to change things up, I experimented with some fun tasting drinks, like this cherry margarita!

Ingredients:

Lime Wedges

Salt

1 cup of Cherry Juice

4 oz of Tequila

1 Tbs of Lime Juice

Seltzer Water (if desired)

Garnish with Cherries

Using lime wedges, moisten the rims of 4 margarita or cocktail glasses. Set aside lime wedges for garnish. Sprinkle salt on a plate; hold each glass upside down and dip rim into salt. Set aside. Discard remaining salt on plate.

In a shaker, combine the cherry juice, tequila, and lime juice; cover and shake well until mixed. Pour into prepared glasses and add seltzer water. Garnish with cherries and lime wedges.
