For the past 4 or 5 years, Eric and I have attended wedding after wedding! The best part about wedding season is that, aside from seeing and celebrating with our friends, we sometimes get to travel to fun places! Our latest trip took us to Chicago, where we made a long weekend out of our trip! I wanted to make sure that we saw some of the hot spots since Eric had never been. I have put together a roundup list of where we stayed, what we did and where we ate!
The Hotel
The bride and groom had a wedding block at the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel which is right in Downtown Chicago on the Loop, across from Millenium Park. The hotel boasts beautiful architecture and history and has two really fun bars.
The Gameroom is a bar on the Lobby level and has…you guessed it…tons of games! Pool, bocce, board games, you name, they have it!
Cindy’s is the rooftop bar and restuarant that has a large outdoor balcony that overlooks Millenium Park and the famous Bean! We got this shot from the rooftop!
The Food & Drinks
I specifically asked the bride, who is a Chicago native, where the best brunch places were. She gave me a few options that all sounded amazing.
Summer House Santa Monica
Our first brunch took us to an adorable place called Summer House. It has such gorgeous summery vibes, great food and a Rosé cart! Right in the heart of Lincoln Park, not only does the restaurant boast Instagram worthy views, the area surrounding it will stun you and you will get the best pics there!
Hampton Social
Maybe you haven’t heard of this restaurant before, but I am sure you have seen pictures of one of its most Instagrammed walls! Hampton Social is an adorable, nautical restaurant only a few blocks from The Magnificent Mile. You will enjoy the drinks, the food and the photo ops!
The Sights
We definitely did a bit of sightseeing, including the Lincoln Park Zoo, The Magnificant Mile and Millenium Park. Other options would include heading up the Willis Tower, catching a Cubs game at Wrigley Field, sampling a deep dish pizza (this is one of the best) or checking out some of the amazing breweries and bars.

The Loop
I hope this travel guide was helpful! Let me know if you have any questions or if there are any Chicago sights that I should see nexgt time!
