Mixing Florals and Textures

Hey friends! You probably caught me wearing this outfit a few weekends ago when Eric and I spent Valentine’s Day weekend at the wineries on the North Fork of Long Island. One of our favorite things to do is to explore the areas surrounding where we live! In the summers, we love to spend time at the beaches in the Hamptons. During the rest of the year, we love going to new restaurants, concerts, wineries/breweries and so much more! Our first stop consisted of a sparkling wine vineyard. We sampled some delicious options, including a sparking rose and had some charcuterie in the meantime. We also went to a few other wineries, both of which we have been to before. The first is known for their ice wines and the second was where my best friend got married a few years ago! My outfit was cozy and consisted of mixing Florals and Textures together!

Check out how I have been Mixing Florals and Textures below!

SEASONLESS WARDROBE

One thing I love to do is to shop my own closet. This is a great way to save money on buying new clothes all the time and always a way to increase the longevity of items that may have a season-limit. I love to do this by mixing together the unexpected to create a whole new look! Typically, you would think that a floral cami’s place might only be in the summer’s sweltering heat. I may have thought that myself as well. As I was picking out an outfit for our trip to the wineries, I wanted to wear this cozy textured duster, but needed something to go under it. I thought about a plain top, but that just seemed a bit too boring. I also looked at some long sleeve blouses, but the necklines just didn’t work with the oversized sweater. I ultimately gravitated to this light tank with a floral print, which I thought gave this look the right balance. Challenge yourself to mix seasonal staples into your year-round wardrobe!

MATCHY MATCHY

One of the biggest style tips I follow regularly is to color match accessories to bring together a look. I was never really a matchy-matchy type person, but you can subtly match pieces of your wardrobe together to make it cohesive without looking like you tried too hard. Here, I decided to highlight the blush color that is in the floral tank top. To do this, I wore a blush crossbody bag and blush booties. To me, this brought the look together just enough to make it work without looking overly styled.
