Neutrals will always be something that are on trend and considered closet staples. What is considered a neutral can very from person to person. Neutrals can be anything from tans and blushes to browns and blacks. Whatever they mean to you, find some amazing neutral pieces and continue to re-style them season after season! To me, neutrals are anything that can be paired with bright and trendy items to ground an outfit. I would consider the outfit I am sharing today to be one comprised of a series of neutrals. I am wearing a black cutout sweater (neutral), a cream teddy coat (neutral) and olive coated denim (neutral). These items can be styled together for a more subdued look or paired with a non-neutral – ie. a bright color, bold pattern or wild texture – for a more daring look. NOT ALL DENIM IS CREATED EQUAL
Coated denim has been around for a little while now. I remember picking up my first pair of black coated denim pants maybe 5 or 6 years ago. They were new, trendy, cool and I liked the way they looked. Fast forward to today, the trend is still going strong and I decided to invest in a new pair…this time in Olive. Coated denim is great to elevate a look. It comes across as being a bit more formal…maybe because of the texture and sheen. I also tend to like the jegging-style material that is typically used for coated denim. It always hugs the silhouette and fits really nicely. This pair specifically runs true-to-size and the length hits perfectly around the ankles when paired with booties.
TREND ALERT: SNAKE PRINT
NYFW is the time when you see the latest trends. I scoped out the snake print trend a few seasons ago and I am happy to say, it is still going strong! You can add snake print to an outfit in any numbers of ways, including jackets, sneakers, bags, and slides. Here, I have a great and affordable pair of snake print booties that pair well with jeans!
