Cozy Sweater Dress make up a majority of my Fall and Winter wardrobe. They are so comfortable and I love that they can either be dressed down or made totally chic with a few accessory changes. This cognac turtleneck sweater dress is such a rich, beautiful color and definitely can be dressed up or down. It’s really cozy and comfortable and is also super affordable! I will say that it is a little on the short side (could be worn as an oversized sweater), so definitely size up if you want to wear it as a dress!

I paired it with neutral accessories and these fun embossed leather boots for a little pop of color! I wore this out to dinner with Eric when we were last in Lake Placid and it was perfect for date night! I think it would also look really good paired with a light Fall calf length jacket!

Fall is upon on whether we are ready for it or not! I am seeing pumpkins and mums lining the front porches of all of my neighbors, so I thought it would be fitting to share some of my favorite Fall trends this year! This post is to dive into The Fall Edit, including trends like sweater vests, neutrals, combat boots, shirt dresses, plaid and flare jeans!

SWEATER VESTS

I think that sweater vests might be the most controversial Fall trend this year. When I think sweater vests, I’m not sure that I think high fashion, or fashion period! Despite any preconceived notions, I actually think that this is a really fun trend! I actually shared a sweater vest during the Summer and you guys loved it! I’ve also seen the sweater vests paired with white button down underneath for a more Fall appropriate option!

NEUTRALS

It should be no surprise that Neutrals are on the Fall trend list. Neutrals are always on trend, and now more than ever, you’ll want to snag some beautiful and rich camels, browns and off-whites for Fall!

COMBAT BOOTS

Combat boots and just chunky boots in general have been on trend for about a year. If you haven’t jumped on the trend yet, I urge you to, because they are in for Fall ad make a bold statement with denim and skirts alike!

SHIRT DRESSES

Shirt dresses are a fun way to style an effortless and casual look into something more interesting and bold! Style with combat boots, over the knee boots or something more chic like stilettos for a fun play on a simple look!

PLAID

Plaid is such a quintessential Fall trend. Though it does go in and out of style, I would say that it’s always a safe bet to have some classic plaids in your wardrobe!

FLARES

Finally, I can even believe I am saying it, but flares are IN! I remember wearing flares and even the “exaggerated flares” (ie. bell bottoms) all throughout middle and high school. I have since donated almost all of flared denim, but I did keep a few favorites that I just couldn’t part with. Now I am glad that I did, because this fun trend is here to stay for a while! Everything from distressed denim, to white denim and black/gray denim is f(l)air game!

Believe it or not, winter is here and you have to be prepared! That is why I am sharing this Gift Guide for the Cold Weather Explorer! It rounds up everything warm and cozy, including teddy coats, faux fur jackets and the best snow boots! Don’t get caught without warm (any stylish) clothing for the winter!

I can’t even tell you how warm and cozy these teddy coats are. They are basically like wrapping yourself in a soft cloud. If you don’t have a teddy coat yet, make sure you snag one for Christmas! Eric and I have plans to go to Lake Placid for New Years and I knew I would need to have really warm clothes. I bought the gray suede Steve Madden boots so that I will have no problem walking around the beautiful and snowy Christmas villages! I know that I will stay really warm, I won’t slip and I’ll still look really cute! Note that the Steve Madden boots run about a 1/2 size big, so be sure to either size down or wear really thick socks! They are really comfy though!

A few months ago, during July 4th weekend, while our addition was still being constructed but before the new roof shingles had been installed we had a rain storm. The whole addition flooded and the water soaked the subfloor and leaked into the basement. Eric and I were frantically hammering tarps into the new wall and ceiling beams and were sweeping as much standing water out of the house as possible well into the early hours of the next morning. Our contractor felt so bad for us that he gave us a gift certificate for a nearby restaurant.

Over the weekend, we jumped at the opportunity to stop painting get out of the house for an evening! I wore this fun sweater and OTK boots to dinner. I love the leather accents on the sleeves and these boots are surprisingly comfortable! I topped the outfit off with a fun red lip and we were good to enjoy and evening of wine, steaks and some delicious dessert!

A cozy turtleneck sweater, leggings and boots are a fall go-to outfit for me – and everyone else – and this outfit is no exception! I wore this outfit on a low key weekend hanging with Eric at my parents house. The fall foliage was really on point and it was a little cool, so the turtleneck was perfect for the day. Even when we did a little grilling outside in the backyard, I stayed warm and toasty in this outfit!

This is also an easy outfit to dress up or down. Whether it be a day of pumpkin picking, a football or baseball game or even a date night out with your man, just switch out the heeled boots for a flat riding boot or the cross body bag for a clutch and you have a whole different look! Hey Lovelies! Well, the fall is flying by and I have been busy, busy, busy. Between our home renovation plans (check those out here), engagement parties and just normal fall festivities, it is already almost Thanksgiving! The whole family is coming to our house again for the week, so wish us luck!

To me, nothing says fall fashion more than some knee-high boots. I paired these with black leggings and this really cute white top with elbow patches. Of course, because it’s already freezing outside, I threw on my fav plaid jacket. If this plaid jacket looks familiar to you, it’s because I have worn it 100 times already (see it here)! This was the perfect outfit to go window, kitchen cabinet and hardwood flooring shopping! Super comfy and low maintenance while we make some of the most stressful decisions of our lives (ok ok, it’s also really fun!)

Happy Friday Everyone! With all of this cold weather, there is nothing better than over the knee boots and a cozy sweater. I went to brunch with some of my best girlfriends this past weekend. Of course, brunch turned into more than just brunch…in a snowstorm, but this outfit was perfect (other than the fact that I desperately need a manicure)!

These over the knee boots are super comfy and look amazing! If you tried to buy these at a Steve Madden store, you would probably pay double, but I found these at DSW back in the fall for about $75 and I have been wearing them non-stop ever since.

I also have to note that these love initial bracelets are just adorable. I got these three bracelets custom made on Etsy for about $40. I had a “k”, “e” and a heart made in gold. I love wearing these with a casual sweater and even to work.
