As you may know, we renovated our home in the Summer of 2016. Not only did we renovate the existing structure, but we also added on significant square footage on both the bottom and top floors. In addition to researching and planning for the interior of our new home, we had to make sure that the exterior was just as expertly designed! We needed to decide on everything from a new roof, to siding, to trim, to how we wanted our front porch to look and so so so much more! Today I am sharing some Home Exterior Inspiration, brought to you by James Hardie!
James Hardie manufactures fiber cement outdoor siding, which can come with their in-house painting process that can provide better fade resistance than siding painted on-site. We decided that instead of using real wood on the exterior of our home, we were going to use their siding to ensure that we had a (mostly) maintenance-free home! James Hardie also has tons of different design options, including lap siding, shingles, and vertical siding. We went with simple horizontal siding for our home, but made sure that the peaks on the front of the house popped with additional decorative details. We are so happy that we don’t have to worry about water or fire damage and that the siding protects against swelling, warping, cracking and resists damage from mold! The best part is that James Hardie has a non-pro rated 15-year limited finish warranty!
We absolutely love sitting on the front porch and drinking wine when the weather in nice. Before our renovation, the porch was dingy and falling apart. We designed a beautiful porch with a stained mahogany floor and white columns. We have some nice furniture out there that is comfortable and cozy for those hours that we sit out there. It is much nicer to enjoy the great weather amidst beautiful siding and our gorgeous porch!

February 20, 2020 at 11:28 amLindsey – Each photo shows a different home with a different color HardiePlank on it. I would venture to say that the colors range from Arctic White, Pearly Gray, Gray Slate, Night Gray, etc. I hope this is helpful!
