It’s finally here! After posting my Gift Guide for the Beauty Lover during the holidays, I got tons of requests to share my daily makeup routine. I realized that I haven’t shared an update to my makeup routine since this post. To be honest, I am definitely a loyal customer when it comes to the brands that I love, so many of my makeup must-have have stayed consistent over the years. I have had the chance to try out new brands through collaborations though, so there are a few new items in my repertoire that I am going to share today!
I would say that the biggest change I have made since I last wrote about my makeup routine is the foundation that I wear. Before, I never really wore a foundation, opting for loose powder instead. While I thought I was doing my skin a favor by not caking on foundation, I wasn’t really getting any sort of coverage. I have naturally oily skin, so before I put on my foundation, I use oil mattefying primer, which is an absolute lifesaver! I have been using and absolutely loving my foundation for over a year now! After I apply my primer and foundation, I make sure that I generously cover my under eyes and lids with concealer. This Makeup Forever concealer will cover any dark circles you have and brighten up your skin. I used to apply this with my finger, but recently started using a damp beauty blender and love how the concealer covers!
Some other new items that I love include this highlighting powder, which I apply on the highest part of my cheekbones just under my eyes, this blush, which I apply on the apples of my cheeks and up into my hairline and this brow filler (I use “Blonde”)! In the past, I only used brow gel to fill in my eyebrows and make sure that they stay in place throughout the day. When thicker eyebrows became more on trend, I considered microblading, but was too scared to actually go through with it. Aside from the cost, I just couldn’t commit to such a semi-permanent beauty solution. Instead, I apply this brow filler to gently fill in parts of my eyebrow that are thin and to define the shape and arch. I have found that I don’t mind spending 30 seconds doing this to have brows that look like they have been professionally microbladed without the cost! If you are someone who has considered microblading, I would ask you to try this brow filler before you do. I love how my brows look after using this!
For my lips, I use all different kinds of lip liners and lipsticks, but the ones I come back to the most are the ones that I have linked below. This YSL lipstick (in “Beige Tribute”) is the perfect neutral shade for everyday. I also occasionally layer it with this lipstick (in “Rose Brown”) for a bit of added color.
